In Slovenia, textbooks are an integral part of the curriculum. Nationally certified guarantee both teachers and students that they provide all necessary knowledge in each subject. There many available for subject must decide which will be source instruction their students. Our research question is whether groups who use different as mandatory learning resource differ attitudes towards learning. We linked existing data from several sources explored scope mathematics science subjects primary schools. Data on student measured independently by National Assessments (and Trends International Mathematics Science Study were used, differences to between taught using explored. Although study has considerable limitations due missing data, results analyses indicate some profound textbooks. These findings could serve a guide when choosing optimal textbook and, even more so, support improving criteria national system validation future.
